The Shawnee United Methodist Youth group exists to be an inclusive Christian community of faith centered in worship and praise, service to others, fellowship, learning and being the light of Christ in the world.
FISH is an after-school program for youth in the 7th and 8th grade. We meet in the gym from 4:00-5:15 p.m. every Wednesday during the school year. (We do not meet on school breaks, school in-service days or snow days.) Food, games, group discussion and devotion are all part of the 75 minutes we are together. We encourage youth to bring friends.
We have a dynamic fellowship of enthusiastic youth who get together on a regular basis for a wide variety of activities. Our purpose is to provide a safe place for youth to interact in a Christian environment by combining faith, fun and fellowship. Our regular meetings, called UMYF, are on Sunday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. for grades seven through twelve.
Other activities include mission trips, community service projects, Confirmation (for 7th and 8th graders), sports, worship opportunities, overnight retreats, covenant groups, Bible study, camping, picnics and more! E-mail Carol Dawson, carol@shawneeumc.org, for more information.
