Adult Sunday school classes are held from 9:30-10:30 am
each Sunday. The exception is the 10:45 Study Group. Read more below...
Genesis Group:
We are a friendly and open group that
welcomes all. We are on a faith journey, studying the Bible, literature,
videos, and current events. Our group has a wide variety of backgrounds,
making our group discussions lively and interesting.
Socially, we have a fall and a spring breakfast at Antioch Park, and other
events throughout the year. Our mission projects include Argentine Food Kitchen and a
Christmas project, decided by vote each year. All ages are welcome. Average
attendance is 10-12 people. (Room 305)
Keystone Group:
This class was established in 1950. We elect officers and appoint committee chairpersons who meet bimonthly
to discuss our business and arrange our various activities. Our mission
projects include: Johnson County Christmas Bureau, Safe Home, Crosslines, Della
Lamb and our own church’s Love Fund. A collection each Sunday goes to
one of those mission projects. We have a bimonthly social event. We
encourage new visitors. In class we concentrate on Bible study and current
events. Jim McDuff is our teacher. The coffee pot is always on – come on down! (Fellowship Hall)
Koinonia Group:
The mission of this class is beginning Bible study. A current events or world
religion discussion begins the class period - Bible study follows. Occasional
social events provide a social base. Singles and couples of any age are welcome
to join us each week. (Room 308)
Maranatha Group:
Has no hang ups about age or marital status. The members enjoy group discussions
and they take turns leading or obtaining outside speakers. Subjects range from
faith development and Bible study to social issues and family relations. Mission
projects include Christmas gifts for children of prison inmates and financial
support of a local social service agency. The coffee pot is on, so drop in and share your thoughts or
just get acquainted. (Room 307)
New Seekers Group:
This is small group Bible study – we directly read and study the Bible together.
We have informal discussions, prompted by Scripture, relating the Bible to
current events and personal experiences. We are a diverse group, focusing on the
New Testament. (Library)
Pathfinders Group:
This is a fellowship of young adults who join
together to learn more about the Bible and how it relates to today's
society. We strive to strengthen and improve our bond with God and the
church by exchanging and learning about others' beliefs and values, thus
broadening our perspectives. We welcome young adult singles, couples, or any
who wish to explore their faith with us. If you would like more information,
please call Rich Adams, 913-648-0023.
Sojourners Group:
Communication and interaction are the hallmarks of this class. The curriculum is
most often drawn from the Cokesbury lesson books with an occasional film being
presented. The discussion centers around understanding Bible passages and how they relate to
today’s living. An active and friendly class, we hold regular social activities
including a bi-monthly breakfast. The class size averages 15-20 people of
various ages. Walk-ins welcome! (Room 304)
10:45 Steppin' Out Group:
We're a diverse age group that meets at 10:45 AM
after the Praise Worship Service. Started in 2002, we are open to any topic
of study or discussion ranging from Genesis to Revelation to current events.
Still growing, we are also open to service projects in the church and the
community. Step in and help us grow! For more information call Kevin
Denison, 913-631-8659. (Room 304)
